Are processes ordered?

When listing the processes for a product are the processes ordered? Layers have an explicit layer order attribute to define this, but processes do not.

The processes is an array, so does that mean that the first one in the array should happen first?

  • From a designer's perspective, it's difficult to name the ordering of the processes, since it depends on the capabilities of the manufacturer. I think most PCB CAD designers are unaware of the ordering of processes, so if ordering is allowed it should not be required.

  • Elias Bakken  you are correct. Processes have no ordering relationship to another like layers have.  They will be processed sequentially, but we specify the final board where a process is a function across layers independently of other processes.
